About Me

Hi, I'm Bell!
Welcome to SnowboardHer, a blog that is intended as a safe space for female snowboarders, or anyone who may not feel as welcomed in the current snowboard community. Together, we can learn, improve and carve out our space (pun intended).
The name of the blog is a play on words, seeing as the term “snowboarder” only brings up images of male snowboarders on Google Search.
I personally grew up skiing, starting at just 2 years old in the Austrian Alps. When I was 15, I decided that snowboarding looked cooler and after many bruises and a concussion, I learned to snowboard and have been obsessed ever since.
I am now a snowboard instructor and am going on my third winter of teaching, which I am very excited about. Please feel free to reach out on my socials, maybe we can board together sometime!

Why snowboarding?
Snowboarding is easily the most fun sport I have ever tried. There are so many tricks you can try, different terrains to ride and going through powder snow is the most freeing feeling in the world.
On top of that, it is an amazing community sport through which I have met some of my closest friends. On the slopes, you will meet many like-minded people from all walks of life and it makes for an incredible atmosphere.
I have rarely seen such a supportive environment as when I am out riding with my fellow girls!
A space for female snowboarders
I created this blog to try and bridge the gender gap that still exists in snowboarding. A lot of the information, products and advertising is aimed at men. From experience, I know that it can feel isolating and sometimes even intimidating as a female in the snowboard community. It’s time we change that!
A community by women for women!
